Youth Pastor Vacancy

YOUTH PASTOR, ALL SAINTS PECKHAM

Called to teach and disciple young people to follow Jesus? Passionate about inspiring others to do the same? This post is all about doing just that, getting alongside the growing number of 11-18 year olds we work with at All Saints and in the local community (over 150) and the volunteer team (over 10 adults) who are involved. This is building on the great foundations put in place over the last years – in fact since the parish was formed in 1867.

5 youth cell groups, a new purpose-built youth space (due for construction in June this year), a regular outreach ministry in a nearby secondary school as well as on a local housing estate, plus a programme of popular youth residentials including Soul Survivor … these are some of the opportunities God has given us. We don’t want someone to do it all. We’re seeking the person God is calling to encourage, inspire, teach and disciple others to join in with what the Holy Spirit is doing.

Could this be for you? It might be if you have experienced Jesus using you in both evangelistic and discipleship settings, and are hungry for more of the same; if you’re called to Peckham in all its vibrant SE15 diversity; if you’re not just an enthusiast but also a strategic thinker. We offer a salary of between £24,000 and £27,000 (dependent on experience), a great pension package, 6 weeks holiday entitlement, a well-established and supportive team of 12 other staff members and a generous budget allowance to do the job. There is a Genuine Occupational Qualification that this post must be filled by a Christian.

Send your CV and up to 750 words describing why God could be calling you to this job by emailing jobs@allsaintspeckham.org.uk.
The closing date for applications is Saturday, May 13th, with interviews being held on Friday May 19th. All applicants will be told on Tuesday 16th May whether they have been shortlisted. If you would value an informal conversation about the post, you can ring our church office on 0203 637 2701 to speak with our vicar, the Reverend Jonathan Mortimer.
