Rev. Jonathan Mortimer
Our Vicar, he leads All Saints and has primary responsibility for our services and teaching.
He joined us in July 2011 having spent the previous four years working with churches across Britain for ‘Through Faith Missions’, an organisation helping churches with their local mission. Before that he was a team rector in a parish of four churches in Crawley.
Amongst significant encounters with God he has had, one of the most life-changing was on a week-long mission called the Walk of 1,000 Men whilst he was at theological college in 1991. Five years before that he married an Austrian doctor called Ruthli. She currently works as a G.P. in a surgery in Streatham. Both of them felt a strong call to Peckham and to All Saints when they first came to visit, and that sense has stuck.
He is regularly seen in Café Viva as well as the indoor market coffee shop with members of the staff team, church members and others, discussing the latest ‘Why don’t we?’ ideas for All Saints. He and Ruthli have two daughters – Joanna who works as a secondary teacher, and Rebecca who is studying medicine at Nottingham University.
